WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Our Story

The Frugaling Shop began with a simple question: How can we help people make their money go further?

After years of working in corporate America, I saw firsthand how rising costs were affecting hardworking people and their families. Employees who were doing everything they could — sometimes working two or even three jobs — were still struggling to make ends meet. As a leader, I found myself having conversations with people who were overwhelmed, frustrated, and trying to figure out how to stretch their income just a little further.

I wanted to find a way to help that went beyond offering advice or support in the moment.

Then, during a conversation my husband and I had with a friend, something clicked. We realized there was an opportunity to connect people with everyday products, wants, and needs at prices that could make a meaningful difference in their budgets.

That conversation became the beginning of The Frugaling Shop.

What started as an idea to help people save money grew into a bigger mission: finding quality products at significant savings, making those deals easier to access, and creating a business that could serve our local community and customers beyond it.

Because we believe a great deal is about more than getting something for less. It's about helping people keep more of what they've worked so hard to earn.

A Note From Our Owner

Hi, I'm Melissa.

The Frugaling Shop is deeply personal to me. After spending much of my career leading teams, building businesses, and solving complex problems in corporate America, I reached a point where I wanted to use that experience to build something that could make a more direct difference in people's everyday lives.

As a wife and mom, I understand how quickly the cost of everyday life adds up. Whether it's something your family needs, something you've been wanting, or simply an unexpected expense, every dollar matters. I believe people should be able to find great products at great prices without spending hours searching for them — and without sacrificing trust, transparency, or service along the way.

That's why The Frugaling Shop is about much more to me than selling discounted merchandise. We're building a better way to save — combining great finds with technology, rewards, loyalty, and a customer experience designed to make getting more for your money easier.

I'm especially proud to be building this business here in our community. My hope is that as The Frugaling Shop grows, so does our ability to create value for our customers, our community, and the families we serve.
